Vital Gardens is a new landscape & garden maintenance company established in 2007 run by Jan L. Steenken located in Carvoeiro.

Jan L. Steenken was born in the Algarve, did his landscaping education in Germany from 2000 – 2003 where he was taught hard landscaping, soft landscaping, garden design, knowledge of plants and materials, business administration etc. 

After his 3 year course at a well known landscaping college and apprenticeship in Germany he worked for another 2 years at a German landscaping company.  Then he decided to stay for 1 year in Brisbane, Australia,  where he also worked as a landscape gardener, learning more about different plants, materials, irrigation systems etc.

Since 2006 Jan is back in the Algarve where his family also lives.
